Note: Mass communication and journalism both are different. Journalism is a part of mass communication but mass communication is not a part of journalism.

Prepare news stories for publication or broadcast.
They gather and organize information to plan advertising campaigns.
Work with customers, company officials, sales departments, and advertising agencies.
Inspect layouts and advertising copy and edit scripts, audio and videotapes, and other promotional material for adherence to specifications.
Coordinate with the media to disseminate advertising.
Mass communication builds public opinion through interviews, editorials, articles etc.
Keep people updated about the latest news and events.
Promote product or services.
